This is quite an idea.
Extend the Internet into the world of audio.
The network of audio devices – speakers and microphones – could greatly extend the reach of the Internet – no more air gaps and you could have Internet access at the bottom of the deepest ocean trenches.
We are talking about non verbal audio – coded sound.
Machine to machine audio might be terribly unpleasant to a human and involve frequencies beyond the range of human hearing but it would be information rich.
Machine to human audio might be music, tonal, percussion and is likely to be quite low in information density.
